Product Review - July 2013 Ipsy Glam Bag

Hello again! Sorry it's been a few days since my last post. I've been busy with school and such.
But here is my review of my July Glam Bag!!!!

First things first... I originally got this in my bag.

And this is what I swapped with my friend Amber for.

I wanted to test out the Benetint, and I really liked how it looked on my cheeks, but I felt I was using way too much product to get the look I wanted. Amber is super pale and would get much more use out of it than I would.
As for the Big Sexy Hair Weather Proof spray, I just wanted the other spray more.

~~*REVIEW*~~

First up is the Sexy Healthy Hair Soy Renewal Spray. This stuff is great! It smells good, gives a good hold without making your hair brittle and stiff, and the sample is a really good size. I'll be able to use this for a really long time seeing as I would only use it when I curled my hair and wanted a bit of volume, or if I wear my hair natural so the curl will hold better.

Second is the POPbeauty Pouty Pop Crayon in the shade Coral Crush. This is my first experience with a lip crayon, and I must say, it's super creamy. The color is gorgeous, and I love that it's retractable! That way you don't waste any product in sharpening the crayon.

Up next is the Coola Mineral Sunscreen in unscented SPF 20. I was a bit disappointed in the size of the sample. I thought it would be at least 0.5 fl oz, but you do get a few uses out of the 0.23 fl oz container. Its very hydrating, and I love that it's organic. I also love that it's mineral so it won't clog my pores. It has a good consistency, as well.

Next is probably my favorite product this month: the derma e Microdermabrasion Scrub. This stuff is AMAZING!!! It smells like sweet lemonade, and it feels even better. The grit is really fine, but there's a lot if it in there. It made my skin feel so smooth afterwards. This sample will also last me forever since it's half the size of the regular container. I'll only be using it about twice a week.

Last, is the BHcosmetics Mini California Collection palette. This palette has a shade from each of the California palettes. The colors really compliment each other, and the shimmers are perfect for summer. The purple shade from the Hollywood palette is matte. The pigmentation in these is really good, but I wouldn't apply them with your finger because they don't transfer well that way. Using a brush, though, works fine. I find it kind of ironic that this would be in the July Ipsy Bag the week after I order the three full size palettes.

That was my review for this month's Ipsy Glam Bag. I hope you enjoyed it. I have a link to Ipsy in the upper right of the blog if you want to try it out. It's a fantastic subscription service as it's only 10$/month. My estimated value of this month's bag is:

Soy Renewal Spray: 6.65
POP Crayon: 4.17
Coola: 4.87
derma e: 16.25
BHcosmetics: 2.69?

Total: 34.63

Makeup Post - My First Contest Entry

OMG guys!!! I super excited to share this with you.
So my girl Charismazone is hosting both a giveaway and a contest, and I entered the contest!
Theme is summer, so you had to do a summer time inspired eye look.
This is the first time I've entered a makeup contest, so any feedback is much appreciated.

Supplies:
Madam Milly's  Cream Eyeshadow in bronze
BHcosmetics Malibu palette
MICA Beauty Cosmetics Shimmer Mineral Eyeshadow  in Rendez-vous
e.l.f. Cream Eyeliner in #81161 Midnight
Wet N Wild Coloricon Eyeliner pencil in #656A White
Maybelline New York The Rocket Volum' Express mascara
Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel

Step 1: I used the cream eyeshadow to prime my lid.

Step 2: Using the chocolate matte brown color from bottom left side of the Malibu palette, I ran that all along my crease.

Step 3: Using the shimmery gold color from the bottom left side of the Malibu palette, I placed that all over my lid, but not higher than my crease.

Step 4: Next, I used the brown shimmer shadow from the bottom right side of the palette to darken my outer-V.

Step 5: I used the gorgeous bright shimmery blue from the right side of the palette on my lower lid.

Step 6: Taking the lime green from the top left, I placed that in my inner corner and blended it with the gold on top and the blue underneath.

Step 6: I lined my waterline with a white eyeliner.

Step 7: I used the Mica shimmer powder all over my upper lid, from crease to brow.

Step 8: I lined my upper lash line with the e.l.f. cream liner and added a little wing at the end.

Step 9: Then, I used my Rocket mascara on both my upper and lower lashes.

Step 10: Finally, I used my Anastasia brow gel to groom my brows.

Here's the end result.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed the look. If you want more posts like this, or if you totally hated it, just comment below. Any feedback would greatly be appreciated. Until next time...

Makeup Post - July 9th MOTD

Hey there, dolls.
Time for my MOTD!
I went really simple today with the makeup.
Usually Tuesday is "Natural Tuesday" for me when I do my makeup, so here it goes.

First up, the products:

As a base, I used the SheerCover Base Perfecting Primer.
It helps me to hide my huge hideous pores lol.
Next, I used Julep's DD Creme in the shade Dark.
It's got a good pigmentation to it, and it leaves the skin feeling hydrated but isn't greasy.
On top of that, I used my SheerCover Mineral Foundation in Mocha.
For the eyes, I went really simple.
I lined them with Cailyn Cosmetics Line Fix gel liner in Purple,
and I finished them with Buxom Sculpted Lash Mascara.
Last, I wore my every trusty Carmex Soothing Lipbalm in Original.

And here's the finished look!

Thanks for reading!

Product Review - Beauty Army Box

I"ll tell you a bit about the box before we get to what's in it.
Beauty Army is a monthly subscription box that only costs 12$/month.
Shipping is free.
It's one of the cheapest boxes out there.
You take a quiz to let them know what kind of products you would like to receive.
You can take the quiz a million times to choose to look at different products.
Then you can choose up to 6 samples to get shipped to you.
That's it.
You can skip a month if you want, too.
Now...
On to the box!

Here's what the packaging looked like after I opened it.
It's an awful picture, I know, but it's the best I could do haha.
Opening it up there was a cute little card talking about Beauty Army and the products featured.
And the actual pattern inside the box was super cute. Gotta love pink camo print.

Now on to the products!

First up is the Mini Kittour frosted 30mL Travel Bottle.
It's a basic little bottle with a flip top that screws off as well.
Good for gals on the go.

Next are the Lash Cards.
People have really hyped these up on IG so I was really excited to try them.
I got 2 in the sample pack.
They worked well, but if you don't wanna spend the money on them, you could easily use like a stiff piece of paper that was rounded at the bottom.

Up next is the Colorsmash Hairshadow in the shade Rags to Riches.
This was absolutely awesome!
I initially added it to my box for my daughter because she had been telling me she wanted "color hair".
She loved it to death!
The color payoff is really good, it just doesn't last very long.
I would try sealing it with a hairspray after applying.
My Addiction NV Gel Liner pot in Little Betty is next.
Loving this!
Goes on like butter and the pigmentation is divine!
I also got a sample of the Yes To Tomatoes Daily Pore Scrub.
It spells pretty good and feels good on the skin.
My only problem with it is that I really like a scrub with a really course grit.
Other than that I really liked it.
It did what it was supposed to to.
Other than the website, I have found that you can get Yes To products at Meijer and Ulta.
Last, but not least, is the Own Refining Moisture Night Cream.
I had never used a night cream until I tried this one.
It is AMAZING!
It's super hydrating and it left my skin feeling super smooth.
I'm typing up this blog post and it's 3:40 in the morning here, but I used the night cream around 11 pm and it still feels soooooo good.
This you can pick up at Ulta, as well.

This was my first Beauty Army box, and I was a bit underwhelmed by the products at first.
The sizes of the products really are only sample sizes, and I am used to getting at least deluxe samples that I can use a few times before they run out.
Overall, I am really pleased with the products themselves.
My favorites are the Own cream and the Addiction NV liner.
On a scale of 1-10, I would give this box a 7.
The actual products were really great, but the sizes of the samples should be bigger.

Well that was my review.
I do hope you enjoyed.
Leave me comments and questions below!

Nail Post - Californails July 4, 2013 Nail Art Challenge

I know, I'm kind of late. BUT! I'm absolutely in love with this mani!!!
I wore a gorgeous maxi dress by Papaya for the fourth.
I got it 2 Spring Break's ago when I went down to Florida with my family.
Here's a closeup on the circular print.
This is one of my favorite dresses I've ever owned, so I thought it would go perfectly with this challenge.
I'm not like a fetus nail artist, but I'm no professional either, so this was a challenge for me.
I really enjoyed making these and I think they came out great!
Here's my left hand.
Even my Cinderella Hand looks good!
I'm super happy with these!!! I hope you liked them as much as I do!
Leave me a comment below telling me what you think.

Base coat: Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Hardener
Yellow: Julep Lexie
Purple: Julep Taylor
Blue: SinfulColors Professional Jolt
White: Color Club Art Club Nail Art Striper in White
Black: Color Club Art Club Duo Nail Art Striper in Holo Steel

Haul Post - CVS

So I got paid today instead of tomorrow. Bet you can't guess what I did haha.
Went to CVS!
Well I knew I needed to get fireworks for Riley, so I only grabbed two things.
I probably would have gotten only a bronzer if it weren't for my awesome CVS coupons!
The little coupon scanner spit out like 8 coupons and I used one that said "4$ off any 12$+ cosmetics purchase." So of course I had to buy at least 12$ worth of stuff.
I also got  1.50$ in extra bucks and I got to use those too.
I picked up two things from Milani Cosmetics.
The first thing I picked up was obviously a bronzer, cause that's what I went in for in the first place.
I got the Milani Baked Bronzer in the shade Golden 06.
The packaging is super cute and classy. Like everything else from Milani, it has to gold surround and the gold lettering.
It also comes with a flip up mirror underneath the bronzer and a mini brush.
I'm kind of in love with it.

The second thing I got was the Milani Color Statement Lipstick in the shade Flamingo Pose 12.
It's a gorgeous coral hot pink. It's also watermelon scented. Yummy!
My pic of this does the color absolutely NO justice, but it is super gorgeous. Just Google it to see a better pic of it.
I love, love, love this color! it looks really great against my skin. It's really creamy when it goes on, but it does dry matte. If you like the gloss look like I do, top it off with your favorite gloss or balm for some shine. It is really bright, so I would say that if you're going to wear it, to either go all out on the rest of your makeup or make the lipstick your pop of color for the face.

Thanks for being here for the start of my journey.
Kiss, kiss.
