30 Days of Beauty Tag - Day 1: Fave Brand(s)

Because I can't think of anything original lately (and also because these tags are so much fun!), I'm doing another tag I found on Instagram. This one, as you might have guessed from the title, is called the 30 Days of Beauty Tag. I will definitely NOT have this tag done in 30 days, but I thought it would be a great way to keep my blog content fresh and flowing.

As you guys know, I love drugstore makeup. With that being said, my favorite brands are, you guessed it, from the drugstore! This is what I own the most of. This is what I like to buy, because you get sooo many more items for the same amount of money as you would spend at MAC or Sephora.

My favorite brands are Wet N Wild, elf, and Maybelline. All three of these brands have fantastic products, but I like them for different reasons. elf has great shadows and cheek products.

I love the lippies from Maybelline.

Overall, Wet N Wild is my favorite. Wet N Wild has some amazing lipsticks, nail polishes, and shadows.

For these tag posts, I'll be keeping them short and sweet. I hope you enjoyed, and come back to see what I've got for you next time.

Rainbow Tag - Red

So I first saw this on Instagram when I was browsing through my feed, and it looked like a really cool concept. I thought I would extend it to my blog so that I could do swatches of the products in case you wanted to see what they looked like on the skin and not just in the packaging. For the images with multiple swatches, the correct one is the one with the star next to it.

Let's start with skincare stuff. I have 2 shower gels from Bath & Body Works to show you guys. One is in the scent Rome Honeysuckle Amore. It has more of a rose color than red, but I had to make this color work for me since I don't have a lot of red stuff. It has a very spring appropriate scent with peach, honeysuckle, and amber notes.

The other shower gel I have is my all time favorite that was sadly discontinued, Midnight Pomegranate. This is such a great night time scent. It smells like sexy fruit, if fruit could be sexy. You can definitely smell the pomegranate, but there's also some sandalwood in there too.

Let's move on to nail colors! I have 4 reddish nail polish colors. They are all from different brands, which is a surprise to me. The most affordable of the bunch is Sinful Colors "Under 18". It's a deeper red with red shimmer in it.

Next is Julep "Claudette", which is more of a dusty rose color.

I have the Essie polish in "Big Bag Theory". It's more of a watermelon red color.

The last of the bunch is OPI Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It. This is an all time favorite polish for me. I use it a lot in the warmer months.

Moving on to makeup products, I have the Em Cosmetics Pillow Plush Cushiony Lip Balm in "Strawberry." This has such a cool texture! It really is pillowy and bouncy.

The rest of the red makeup products I have are blushes, of course. The first of which is the BH Cosmetics Blush Duo in "Rose." I'm only using the rosy colored side for the swatch.

One of my favorite drugstore blushes is "Berry Shimmer" from Wet N Wild. The pigmentation is crazy on this thing!

1 of the 2 cream blushes I have is "Flustered" from Be A Bombshell Cosmetics. I got it in an Ipsy bag a while back, and it is just gorgeous worn full on or sheered out.

And last I have the Hard Candy Fox in a Box blush in "Hot Flash". It has 4 different colors, but for the swatch, I swirled them all together.

Stay tuned for more colors from the Rainbow Tag both here and on my Instagram!

Walmart Haul feat elf, Revlon, & More

After class yesterday I stopped by Walmart, mainly because my daughter wanted some juice boxes, but also to stock up on some old faves and also so purchase some new products.

First up is a product EVERYONE has been talking about recently. It's the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer. I wanted to try out the Stay Matte Foundation too, but the shade range doesn't cover dark skinned girls. Oh well. So I did pick up the primer. I'm really excited to try this out since I get pretty shiny in the summer. Perfect timing!

I also picked up the Revlon Photoready Foundation in the shade 011 Cappuccino. It's a little dark for me and has more of a red undertone, but I got it for summer. I'm outside a lot at work so I will be catching a tan and I need my foundation to match the rest of my body. This foundation does come with a pump.

I got 2 products from elf. One is just a refill on my Makeup Mist & Set spray. I love using this stuff to spritz my face with after I apply a powder foundation, to refresh my makeup with, and to spray my brush with if I want to make an eye shadow more metallic looking.

The second elf item is the HD Undereye Setting Powder in Sheer. Shaaanxo on YouTube uses this and raves about it. I could never find it in stores until yesterday! It was the only one left so of course I snatched it up before anyone else could. I really needed something to set my more emollient concealers with that would give a nice finish.

Moving on to nails, I got just 1 nail polish. I picked up the Pure Ice nail polish in the shade Teal Appeal. It's so pretty! I don't actually have a blue that's this color. Most of my blues are really bright, really dark, or really light. This one is a dusty navy color. I cannot wait to put this on!

I also got another bottle of acetone. This time I got the ONYXprofessional 100% Pure Acetone. I'm almost out of my last bottle, and I don't care what brand it is as long as it works. It has 16 fl. oz.

The last thing I purchased is a skincare item. I ran out of this a few months ago and, like I said, I get oily in the summer so I picked a new one. It's the Clean & Clear Essentials Deep Cleaning Astringent. My husband also tends to use this, so it's a win-win.

That sums up this little haul. I hope you enjoyed it! See you next time.
