Nail Post - Monthly Recap and Faves

I feel like this month was super long compared to other months this year. No clue why.
I try to do my nails at least twice a week and because of October being both Breast Cancer Awareness Month and having Halloween in it, I actually had inspiration for what to do to my nails instead of winging it haha. Each week I did one breast cancer awareness mani and one Halloween mani. Almost. I only did 1 for mani for Halloween because I've been so busy and 3 for BCA. So here is my past month in nails!

These BCA manis are all dedicated to my wonderful Grandmother, Katie, for surviving. I don't know what I would do without her. I love you, Gramma^-^

Product Review - October 2013 Ipsy Glam Bag

It came! It finally came! So it's currently the 17th and I got my bag yesterday in the mail, and I am super excited to share it with you guys. Just in case you don't know what Ipsy is, it's a beauty subscription service that is just 10$ a month. You get both full size products and deluxe size samples, and you get 3-5 products each month along with a cut makeup bag. This month's theme was "The Art of Beauty."

The Goods:

First up is the bag! This month's makeup bag looks really similar to the first Ipsy bag I received back in April. It's a white bag with pink trim and pink lining. The front of the bag has a quote in cutsie pink lettering that says:
Love of beauty is taste.
The creation of beauty is art.

The first thing I pulled out of the package this month was a Coastal Scents Medium Shadow Brush with natural hair.
"This medium sized, versatile brush is ideal for applying any type of eye shadow. The pony haired bristles are both wide in shape and condensed, while remaining evenly distributed. This allows the artist to uniformly cover the whole eyelid in just a few simple strokes, which saves not only time, but eye shadow as well. This professional cosmetic brush can also be used for shading the crease and highlighting the brow bone with complete precision."
It is super soft and the handle is made of sturdy wood. I have heard really good things about their brushes. One of my favorite Youtube beauty gurus, Lauren Curtis, uses them all the time. I cannot wait to try this out.

Up next is the Nourish Organic Deeply Nourishing Coconut & Argan Body Lotion.
"Smooth on this soothing, deeply nourishing organic body lotion that is clinically proven to improve skin elasticity. Moroccan Argan Oil, packed with restorative omega fatty acids, intensely hydrates and replenishes skin, while vitamin-rich coconut oil smoothes and softens. Advanced non-greasy formula is incredibly gentle for sensitive skin and won't clog pores. 100% natural. USDA-certified organic. Gluten-Free. Vegan."
OMG, you guys, this stuff smells amazing! Like, it smells like your own personal tropical island. It is super hydrating and definately worth the money if you get nasty dry skin like I do. You can purchase these online, or you can get them at Target.
[]Pass [X]Buy

I got another nail polish! Yay! This is my fourth nail polish from Ipsy, and only my second Zoya ever. I got the shade Neve.
"Zoya Nail Polish in Neve can be best described as sapphire blue metallic."
The polish looks like a gorgeous deep purple in the bottle, but when you swatch it, it's actually a lovely deep, shimmery bruise blue, haha. It's beautiful and I am super happy to have another Zoya in my collection.

I got another hair product this month. I received the Style Sexy Hair Spray Clay.
"A non-traditional clay in a spray form. With this new innovative aerosol application it allows for a fine and even product distribution to achieve an allover textured look with a matte finish. This product is great for all hair types needing added texture and movement with a dry, non-waxy hold."
This, I have not used yet, but I have mixed feelings about it. I don't usually put product in my hair, and I got the Healthy Sexy Hair Beachy Waves spray and really liked it, so I guess this spray is more of a fall/winter alternative for that.
[?]Pass [?]Buy

My last product, I am majorly excited about. It's the Bella Terra Mineral Cosmetics Mineral Shimmer in the shade Emotion.
"8-in-1 Mineral Shimmers" can be used for lids, lips, hair, nails, and body.
The color!!!!!!! It's gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous! It's like a medium plum shimmer, and I want to dip myself in it, it's just that pretty.
[]Pass [X]Buy

Price Summary:
Coastal Scents Brush (FULL SIZE) - 2.49$
Nourish Organic Lotion - 1.50$
Zoya Neve (FULL SIZE!) - 8.00$
Spray Clay - 6.03$
Bella Terra Shimmer - 11.99$

Total: 30.01$

I was almost really upset with this bag. The only product I won't use to it's full potential is the hair spray. I may end up giving it to my mom, but I do use texturizer when I curl my hair, so who knows.

Thanks so much for stopping by. If you want to subscribe to Ipsy for only 10$ a month, click here to take the style quiz. Come back soon!

Haul Post - Fall Lippies!

I make these all the time lol. I like to buy things. But I haven't bought many things for fall because I've been obsessed with the summer brights. Now it's time to go for something a little more deep and earthy. And just for a heads up, I totally have chronic bitch face.

The Goods:
Let's start off with a lip liner from Wet N Wild. This one is in the shade Chestnut. It's a really nude, really natural looking liner for darker skin. I probably would wear it by itself, but paired with a light nude lipstick or even a bright red or plum would work well for me since I love bright, vibrant lippies.

just the liner

paired with Mirabella Posy

Maybelline New York is another of my favorite drugstore brands, and I really love their ColorSensational lipsticks. I own three others (215 Totally Toffee, 970 Electric Fuschia, 980 Orange Edge) and I love the pigmentation and creaminess of them. This time I bought 155 Party Pink.

Next up are more Wet N Wild products, but these are Mega Last Lipcolor lipsticks in the shades 908C Sugar Plum Fairy and 918D Cherry Bomb. My girl Shantrinas on Youtube was wearing Cherry Bomb at work one day and I had to have it. Sugar Plum Fairy, I saw on Instagram somewhere and was like "it's gorj!"

Lastly is my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the shade Crush. I love lip crayons. They are easy to travel with and the minty scent and tingle is great. This one is super hydrating, which I also love, because my lips get really dry all year round. The color is amazing too.

That's it, boys and girls! Thank you for reading, and stay tuned for more!

Nail Post - Julep Referral Goodies!

My lovely friend Amber, that I've known for almost 2 years, FINALLY! got a Julep subscription after me telling her for ages how awesome it is. She read my review of my August box and saw that you could use the coupon code FREEBOX to (wait for it) get a free box! So she used my referral link, which you can find in the right side bar, and I got a 15$ credit! Normally when someone uses your referral link, you get 1000 Jules, but I'm assuming since she didn't actually pay for the box they just gave me the credit. I'm not complaining!
I bought 2 discontinued polishes from way back before Julep changed over to their new flat brush. The first of which is Brit, a "Graphite silver suede." I already had 2 suede finish polishes of theirs and loved them, but this one I did not have. Julep released 5 suede finish polishes, and now the only 2 I don't have are Amber and Minka. Click here to view the 5 polishes.

Polish #2 that I ordered is my fave out of the three, the gorgeous "coral orange creme" Gloria. I absolutely died when I took this our of the box. It is soooo much prettier on your nails than it is in the bottle.

This last one I didn't buy. Amber bought it and didn't end up liking it, so I traded her the NYX eye shadow I got in my September Glam Bag for this baby. It's a red and I don't usually like reds but it's a pretty deep color and it looks really good against my skin. She's called Claudette and Julep describes her as a "smokey brick-red creme."

Thanks to Amber, I got (technically) all three of these for a whopping $.98! Thanks Amber!!! If you want to try the Julep subscription risk free, click here to take the style quiz and enter the coupon code FREEBOX to get your first box for free!

DIY Post - Hydrating Face/Hair Mask

If you are a skincare junkie like me, you'll love this majorly simple Do-It-Yourself face mask recipe!
It's fall now and the air is getting dryer and the wind is getting gustier.
Know what means? Dry skin!
This face mask is designed to put some moisture back into your face!

Things you'll need:

  • Large bowl
  • Large spoon or fork
  • Knife
  • Measuring cup
  • Very ripe avocado
  • Very ripe banana
  • Honey
  • Egg
  • Coconut Oil
What you gotta do:
  1. Cut the avocado in half  and take out the pit. Scoop the contents of 1/2 into the bowl. Save the other half for a yummy salad.
  2. Measure out 1/4 cup of honey and add to the bowl.
  3. Mash the avocado and honey together.
  4. Add in the egg, banana, and coconut oil. Mix well.
  5. Put it on your face!

Now you have a super easy (and tasty!) face mask to keep your skin hydrated for the cold, windy months ahead. Leave the mask on for 10 minutes, and then rinse.

If you still have some left over, you could either save it for later or package it in some small mason jars and give it as a gift!

Thanks to all you lovelies for reading my blog!

Haul Post - Eye Products

And I'm back with another haul! Ya'll know I like to buy stuff.
I went to Target, CVS, and Dollar Tree to get these. For some reason they don't all exist in the same place!

The Goods:

I got 2 new eye shadow palettes! The first is an e.l.f. quad in the shade Party Purple. It was only $3!!!!!! I love e.l.f products! The packaging is really sleek and simple like everything else from e.l.f.. It comes with a little mirror and a dual tipped sponge applicator.

My next eye shadow palette is the Hard Candy feelin' blue. It has 10 shadows ranging from a champagne to a deep midnight blue. The packaging has a strip of blue fabric across the bottom with a lace overlay. It comes with a good sized mirror and two sponge tipped applicators. It also comes with a basic black eye liner pencil.

Sticking with shadows, I bought two loose shadows from L.A. Colors at my local Dollar Tree. They packaged it in a pretty clever way, with a funnel and brush to catch the shadow and a top to seal it. I got the shades Black Pearl and Radiant. Radiant is a lot more pigmented and goes on a lot smoother than Black Pearl.

Up next is eye liner. I finally bought the Milani Eye Tech Extreme liquid eye liner pen in 01 Blackest Black. I have heard such great things about this liner and just never tried it until now. I'm really excite to have this in my collection!

Lastly, I bought another mascara. Cuz you can't every have too much mascara. I purchased Rimmel London Scandaleyes Lycra Flex Mascara in the shade 03 Extreme Black. I don't have a lot of volumizing mascaras that I really like except for my Rocket Volum'. The brush on this thing is huge like my Maybelline one, so I'm hoping for good results.

That concludes my haul! Thank you so much for reading my blog. It means the world to me. Please like, comment, and subscribe.
